I am thrilled to have an opportunity to raise funds to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Every dollar I raise over the next five months will go directly to the MDA.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) is a nonprofit health agency focused on increasing awareness and researching treatments for muscular dystrophy, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) and dozens of other neuromuscular diseases. It does this by:
- Awarding grants and funding to researchers across the globe to help discover and develop treatments and cures for these diseases.
- Providing health care and support to individuals and families living with neuromuscular disease. This support takes the form of MDA Clinics, caregiver support clinics, assistance choosing and acquiring needed medical equipment, and hosting accessible summer camps for kids with muscle disease.
- Raising awareness and support in local communities by organizing local and national events and fundraisers. (Ice bucket challenge, anyone?)
Team Momentum is a nationwide running team comprised of individuals dedicated to supporting the MDA’s efforts by participating in full and half marathons. Team members train together twice a week and support each other’s fundraising efforts.
You can help support the Muscular Dystrophy Association by donating.
